Hello, I'm Becky Case-Upton.
I have always been fascinated by the human body with a solid background in science. Following my interests, I gained a first class degree in Biomedical Science and a PhD in Pharmacology from The University of Sheffield. I have previously worked in science at The University of Cambridge, as a research associate, and as a freelance medical writer, for the charity Kidney Cancer UK. However, my passions lie in helping and talking to people more directly. Merging my interests in sports, physical activity and healthy living. I'm keen to put my scientific knowledge into practice, helping people to make the most of their body and to feel better.
I was initially curious about reflexology after having a treatment following the birth of my first child. The effects of this treatment were really interesting and I had nothing but questions that I needed answering, so I trained up. I studied reflexology at The London School of Reflexology in 2009. I then went on to train in the Bergman method of facial reflexology, pregnancy reflexology & Indian head massage.
I qualified from The North London School of Sports Massage (NLSSM), with a Level 5 Diploma in Sport and Remedial Massage. I am fully insured and a member of The Association for Soft Tissue Therapists (SMA). I massage for my local rugby team, Ely Tigers RUFC. Throughout the 2018/19 season I regularly massaged for a leading premiership rugby team during their rehabilitation sessions, gaining work experience. I regularly volunteer at charity events, such as The London Marathon and Ride London.
Since qualifying I have added more techniques and tools to my soft tissue therapy practice, such as, medical acupuncture, kinesiology taping and dry cupping. In October 2020 I'm beginning my training with Polestar Pilates to become a mat and reformer pilates instructor, adding more exercise based knowledge to my treatment analysis and aftercare.
